premise.

This game is simple. Set in the Seattle, there is no gimmick, no premades and no secrets or anything of the like. The game is simply for one thing: for character development, interaction, and writing with mature characters, who are all past their mid-twenties and ranging to those well past their thirties.

With the growing numbers of games that seem completely overrun with the new fresh faces of the world, it seems that "older" pb's are getting pushed out of the running. Which is perfectly fine, but for those of us who want to use older faces, to be able to have adult storylines that are handled maturely, the pickings seem very slim. This is where [info]thirtysomething comes in. Played-bys should be no younger than 27 and characters are to be no younger than 28. Why? Because as much fun as it is to have younger characters around, this is going to be a place for an "older" generation of characters and faces. At some point, we may open up the game for younger-ish characters, but only those who will have a direct connection to someone already in game.

rules.

⇒ We are going to assume you know how to RP by now. The same rules will apply here as everywhere else. Don't mix OOC and IC. Be considerate of the other players. World peace, all that jazz.

⇒ Journal names are to be your character's name, and their name only in some variation. In-character AIM is NOT required. Yes, you heard us correctly. You can of course choose to make one, but in-character AIM isn't required for your character.

⇒ The character limit is currently set at four. If you desperately want another, this will be done on a case-by-case basis.

⇒ The journaling system works as exactly that. A social network of sorts. These are your character's online journals. Entries are visible to everyone unless otherwise marked. Your characters cannot read, nor respond to strike out text.

⇒ Activity will be monitored through journal updates, and posted scenes. If you choose to write scenes over AIM, please post them! We'll be going by the idea of if it isn't posted, it didn't happen. We'd like our members to be proud of what they write, and share their character development with the rest of the community! The rating of this game is anything from G-NC-17, however if it is the latter, please just label it with a warning.

⇒ To be considered as active, you must participate in posting a scene, or entry at least every three weeks. We'd prefer you to be much more active than this, of course, but that's the minimum.

⇒ You must have a bio or list of facts, and bonus points for storyline posts.

⇒ You must also have an in character contact post. This will serve as a place other characters can send e-mails, texts, voicemails, etc to your character, and keep up with interaction!

  • a note about pimping this game. As much as we hope and want this game to be successful, we really do want to keep it relatively small. We think that the game will work best with a smaller roster of players who are active with their characters. We encourage you pimping the game to your friends, and if you want a specific line filled, go ahead and pimp at [info]pbads. We definitely do not want mass-pimping on the rp ad communities, but if you see people looking for homes, please feel free to offer [info]thirtysomething as a home for them!
